We came home this morning and had a rough day. We couldn't seem to keep Peanut's pain under control, and she has a slight temp. The doctor tried to call in the dilaudin (something like that), but it's a class 2 drug so he couldn't. His office and the hospital are both 20 minutes from home, so it wasn't convenient to go back for it while she was upset. He ended up calling in Lortab, which seems to have helped.
Her temp was almost 100, but he said that's okay. As long as she stays under 101 she's okay. He thinks her pain is bladder spasms, which I read happens after the surgery. We're doubling her Ditropan to twice a day instead of once a day. Also giving her Milk of Magnesia on top of the Miralax, to try and get her pooping.
I am so relieved to be home. Thank goodness! It sucks being inpatient. Hopefully she gets over this pain hump quickly. It really really really sucks seeing her in pain. It's such a helpless, horrible feeling! I just want to cry along with her.
It is so unfair that my little innocent Peanut has to go through all this crap. It's unfair that ALL our kids have to go through this crap! They are so pure and sweet and it just sucks.
On a happier note, we are home. That's important! I will post some pictures tomorrow probably. Thanks for checking on us, and posting, and praying!

Glad to hear that you are back home again! But, so sorry to hear that Peanut is in so much pain! It sucks having to watch your little one hurting! I pray that she continues to feel better! Hang in there! Love, Hugs and Prayers!!
Thinking of you, glad you're home!
Ugh, I hate pain for our little ones. I remember when Jax had his cecostomy in June. He was in pain for days and I wondered if I made the right decision to do the surgery. Yuck.
Yea! you are home - I have been checking to see what was up with you and her and I'm glad that you can be uncomfortable at home, rather than uncomfortable at the hospital. Of course, it would be nice to not be uncomfortable at all, but that will come with time, I'm sure!. Quick healing vibes coming your way.
happy to hear you are home, we are praying that Peanuts pain will be controlled very quickly
Oh my... I have missed so much... SO MUCH.
First, I am glad she's home - - that you're all home - - and that her pain now seems to be under control.
Second, I am so sorry that she (and you) had to go through this at all. This surgery sounds awful... I am so glad it's over... but so sorry that it had to be done at all. I hope they achieved what they needed/wanted with it and that Miss Peanut is comfier and things can be a bit easier for her and you now.
Third, I laughed out loud... for several seconds... at the "They really should serve Margaritas in the cafeteria" comment! You are hilarious and it makes me happy to see that amidst all of this, you can keep your humor! So important!
Fourth, I am lovin' the way you and your friends spent the first day of school! My kinda ladies! :-)
Fifth, we really do have to get together... I really think our girls would enjoy each other!
Glad you're home... can't believe I missed so much!

(PS - May I add a link to your blog from mine? Would you mind? And, do I remember correctly that a little someone has a birthday coming up...?)
So glad you guys are home. I'm glad it wasn't a two week stay. I hope she starts to feel better soon. We are praying for you guys!
Poor baby. I hope the pain is well controlled by now and that her recovery is smooth. Saying a prayer for her.
